Clark, Joel Lee - Age 61, of Flint, passed away on November 14, 2023 at Mclaren Flint Hospital, surrounded by his loving wife, Lauri, and their three children.
He was born on September 4, 1962 in Owosso, Michigan to Ronnie Cleston Clark and Ruthanne (Anderson) Clark. He graduated from Owosso High School in 1980, earned an advanced degree from the School of Hard Knocks, and worked for many years in the commercial flooring and construction industries. He was respected by his peers in the industry and truly knew how to read a blueprint and bring it to life.
He married Lauri (Lehr) Clark, in July 1988 and they spent 35 years together raising children and, occasionally, raising a little hell. He spent a fair amount of time working on never ending home-renovation projects, going to the occasional rock show, and celebrating life with family and friends. He was a hard-working, good-humored and sometimes slightly irascible individual, who fiercely loved his wife, children and entire extended family.
Joel is survived by his wife, Lauri; their three children: Kaile (Bryan) Duncan; Logan (Tricia) Clark; and Lexie Clark; four siblings; Barry (Sheila) Clark; Shellie (Doug) Vanderploeg; Jennifer (Roy) Charvat; Alan Clark and Beth Mulford; his beloved mother-in-law, Sandy Lehr; and his brother-in-law Grant (Kelly) Lehr. He was preceded in death by his parents; his younger brother, Cary Clark; and his father-in-law, Gary Lehr.
The family would like to thank (Lexie’s fam) McLaren staff on 5 South ICU for their love and support.
A memorial service will take place at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 18, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. A visitation will take place from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday and again from 12:00 PM until the time of service on Saturday.
