ISAACSON, Larry L.– Of Grand Blanc, age 82, passed away Sunday, September 25, 2022 at McLaren-Flint. It was a great life that went by very quickly.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 1, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 2500 North Franklin Avenue, Flint, Father Thomas Firestone officiating.
Cremation will take place following the Mass.
Interment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Toys For Tots.
Visitation 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday with Military service at 7 p.m. at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. Isaacson will be at the church from 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the Mass.
Larry was born on May 12, 1940 at St. Joseph Hospital in Flint, MI.
He graduated from St. Mary High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from February 2, 1959 to February 1, 1963.
Upon being discharged, he hired into Buick Motor Division, where he worked for 37 years.
In retirement he volunteered at the St. Mary Food Pantry for twenty years, and also was an active member in the Marine Corps League, Flint Detachment for several decades. He was active in Marriage Encounter for 43 years.
He leaves behind his wife, Shelley Ann of over 52 years and seven daughters; Jacqueline S. Leyden of Milan, MI, Laurie M. Hochrein of Milan, MI, Shan A. Heath of Saginaw, MI, Katherine R. Isaacson of Saline, MI, Kelley A. Phillips of Broadview, SK, Nancy R. Zebrowski of Saline, MI and Heidi E. Perrino of Grand Blanc, MI;
sixteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
