MAGYAR, Joseph W. – of Clio, Michigan, age 96, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 12 PM Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Davison United Methodist Church, 207 East 3rd Street, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Rob McPherson officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-12 PM Thursday, December 14, 2023 at Davison United Methodist Church.

Joseph was born in Flint, Michigan on June 2, 1927, son of the late Frank and Theresa (Irk) Magyar. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1945-1946. On June 21, 1947, he married the love of his life, Virginia Bargy, at Davison United Methodist Church. Together, they built a life filled with joy, shared dreams, and cherished moments. Professionally, Joseph was the proud owner and operator of B & M Cartage/Kelso Trucking Company. His dedication and hard work were evident in the success of his business, and he earned the respect of many in his community.
Joseph had a zest for life and a wide range of interests. He found joy in traveling, fishing, and hunting, appreciating the beauty of the world around him. His passion for carpentry and woodworking showcased his creative spirit and craftsmanship.
However, above all, Joseph's greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He cherished every moment with his loved ones, creating lasting memories leaving a legacy of love, dedication, and a life well-lived.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Virginia Magyar; 4 daughters, Lynda (DeWayne) Uren of Ringgold, GA, Marcia (Paul) Smith of West Bloomfield, MI, Brenda (Bob) Smith of Burton, MI and Pamela Hillock of Otisville, MI; former son-in-law, John Hillock II of Millington, MI; 9 grandchildren, Jodi (Ben) Keim, Cory (Kim) Uren, Michelle (Brandon) Murray, Jeremy (Natasha) Gray, Robert (Chris) Smith, Amanda (Dwayne) McMurrian, Colby (Bryan) Cain, Haylee (Shawn) Beardslee and Stacy Hillock; 11 great-grandchildren, Autumn, Evan, Ella, Jacob, Makenna, Ryland, Kellan, Magnus, Calum, Isabella and Connor; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Theresa Magyar; great-granddaughter, Hannah Smith; 3 brothers, Frank, John and Jim and sister, Helen Baksa.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davison United Methodist Church or the Batesville Memorial Tree Program, in Joseph’s memory.
