BARTON, Jean Grace (Kreger) – of Davison, MI, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. A Funeral Service will be held 11:30 AM Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 706 West Flint Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Todd I. Frusti officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc, MI. The family will receive visitors 10:30-11:30 AM Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, Jean’s wishes were for donations to be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
Jean was born in Mayville, MI on February 12, 1924, daughter of the late Henry and Edith (Schmidt) Kreger. She married Gerald Barton on March 2, 1946 in Flint, MI and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2010. Jean was always a strong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint, MI, where she was involved in the church and school. When she got older, she joined Trinity Lutheran Church in Davison, MI. Jean was a very good cook. Her pies were praised by all and many grandkids loved her goulash. She was also a very gifted sewer, making clothing for everyone. Jean loved spending time with her grandkids. She worked for the State of Michigan, retiring after 20 years of service.
Jean is survived by 3 children, Linda (Ron) Shepard of Davison, MI, Brenda (Steve) Hawley of Roseville, CA and Gary (Michele) Barton of Dansville, MI; 4 grandkids, Jeff Bellamy, Shelley Badour, Ryan Bellamy and Hollie Rodgers; 9 great-grandkids, Abby Tames, Lauren Schultz, Meagan Semren, Victoria Bellamy, Olivia Bellamy, Ben Bellamy, Paul Badour, Collin Rodgers and Brody Bellamy; 2 great-great-grandkids, Grant and Madelyn “Maddie”; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Edith Kreger; husband, Gerald Barton and 8 siblings. Jean was the last living member of 9 children.
