BAILEY, Gloria Jean. – of Clio, age 76, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 14, 2018 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 11AM Monday, December 17, 2018 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 6901 N. Saginaw St., in Flint. Pastor Randy Schultz officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Sunday from 12PM until 8PM and at the church on Monday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Gloria was born October 17, 1942 in Macomb County, Michigan to the late George and Ethel (Callard) Lowell. She graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1960. Gloria married Wayne Bailey on September 3, 1960. She was a counselor for Whaley Children’s Center for many years. Gloria was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Flint. She enjoyed taking photos and attending concerts. Above all, Gloria loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and fur babies.
Surviving are: Loving husband, Wayne Bailey; Daughter, Dana (Scott) VanAlst; Grandchildren: Kalsey (Jimmy) Boots, and Kara VanAlst; Godchildren: DeShaun (Heather) Jackson, Renee (Tyler) Youker, and Beth Goode; 8 great grandchildren; Sisters: Darlene Bethel, Bev Clawson, Jeannie Garrett, and Sandy Williams; Many special nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends. Gloria was preceded in death by her sons: Scott and Robert Bailey; Siblings: Pat Warner and Marion Taylor. The family extends a special thank you to the Cancer Treatment Center of America (CTCA) – Zion, Illinois, McLaren Hospital, and McLaren Hospice – caregivers: Heather, Sara, and Lindsey for all their love and care.
