WAY, Gerald Love (Jerry) - Of Flushing, age 91, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Chaplain Russell Sommer officiating.
Burial in Flushing Cemetery.
Those desiring to make contributions may donate to Flushing Senior Citizens, 106 Elm Street, Flushing or to Hyde Park Memory Care, 3100 Wyndam Drive, Flushing.
Visitation 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Gerald was born on October 26, 1925 to Florence Ester Love and Berton Leslie Way in Flint. A lifelong resident of Flushing, Gerald retired from Flushing Community Schools in 1986.
Gerald is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty (Murray) Way;
daughters, Deborah (Tom) Pokora, Leslie (Jim) Chapman and son Nelson (Amy) Way;
his grandchildren Stephen Pokora, Emily (Andrew) Steiger, Stephanie (Ben) Reed, Joshua Way, Ryan Way and Jenna Way;
three great-children Jacob, Julian and Ethan; cousin Jarrett Way and sister-in-law Donna Stephens.
