VARGO, Patsy “Kay” – of Maineville, Ohio, formerly of Clio, Michigan, age 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 4PM on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Carol Freeland officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Saturday from 1PM until the time of service at 4PM. A committal service will be held at 9:30AM on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Kay was born August 15, 1942, in Leachville, Arkansas, to the late Lawrence and Fannie (Lynn) Palmertree. Pursuing work, the family moved to Flint, Michigan in 1953. Kay graduated from Beecher High School with the class of 1960. Following graduation, she worked at Angelo’s Coney Island in Flint alongside her twin sister Nancy “Fay” Packer and their best friend, Kayleen Smith. The threesome followed their dreams to California for a short while, returning to Michigan with a lot of great memories. On September 5, 1964, Kay married Paul J. Vargo. Together, they enjoyed raising their children, playing cards, camping, bowling, and traveling, and later in life loved their winters in Okeechobee, Florida. They shared 58 great years together until Paul’s passing on January 6, 2022. Kay treasured the moments spent with their children, grandchildren, family and friends, creating lasting bonds and joyful memories. Above all, she loved her family and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: Daughter, Tonya (Bret) Pettet; Son, Paul (Stacey) Vargo; Grandchildren: Logan Pettet, Foster Pettet, Phoenix Vargo, and Griffen Vargo; Siblings: Nancy “Fay” Packer and Mitzi R. Priest; several nieces and nephews and many special family and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Bruneau; Brother-in-law, Jerry Vargo; Sisters-in-law: Carol Vargo, Shelley Vargo and Dalene Vargo along with nephew, Drew Nelson.
