BROOM, Helen Virginia - age 96, of Swartz Creek, died April 5, 2022. A memorial Mass will be held 10AM Tuesday April 12 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Rd., Swartz Creek. Helen was born June 8, 1925 in Flint, the daughter of Kasper and Mary (Wydra) Dubaj. She married James H. Broom on September 23, 1966 and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1987. Helen worked at General Motors and later at Hudson's. She was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and an avid golfer and bowler. Surviving are: son, Robert Henzarek of Fenton; daughter, Rita Calvert of San Diego; three grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Richard.
