JASTER, Elsa - Age 79, of Swartz Creek, passed away October 14, 2020. Funeral Services 12 PM Monday, October 19, 2020 at Living Word Church of God, 6325 Calkins Road, Flint. Pastor John Price officiating. Visitation 9:30 AM until the time of service Monday at Church. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery. Arrangements by Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek.
Elsa was born, May 13, 1941 in Schmidtheim, Poland/Germany, the daughter of Reinhold and Martha (Grams) Riske. She married Siegfried Jaster in Flint, May 12, 1962. Elsa was a graduate of Flint Southwestern High School in 1960 and Baker College. She was employed as a Secretary with Buick Motors, later becoming a homemaker raising her two daughters, after which she became a legal secretary. Elsa was a devoted follower of Christ and a long time member of the Westwood Church of God where she served as Recording Secretary, nursery director and member of the Choir and Orchestra. Recently Elsa attended Linden Free Methodist Church. She taught piano lessons, and was an avid reader who also enjoyed crossword puzzles and sewing.
Elsa is survived by: husband, Siegfried, daughters, Heidi (Dan) Steenbergh, Monica (Bob) Hawcroft; Oma to her grandchildren, Matt (Amber) Steenbergh, Rob Triplet, Leah (Phil) Downs, Jonah (Olivia) Steenbergh, Micah Hawcroft, Jared Hawcroft, and Hannah Hawcroft; great grandchildren, Danny, Blake, Joey, Jesse, and Maggie Downs, Zoey and Rylan Steenbergh; several nieces and nephews.
Elsa was preceded in death by : granddaughter, Baby Elizabeth Hawcroft; her parents; sister, Helene Kunz, and baby brother, Arnold Riske. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
