David was born November 5, 1940, in Flint, to the late Edgar and Hazel (Miller) LaMay. In 1962, married Mary Lou Lossing, in Kalkaska, and together they welcomed two children to the world, Corinne and Andrew. Mary Lou preceded David in death in 2000, then David shared almost 20 years with the love of his life, Joyce Lijewski, and created a beautiful life and blended family with her in Bay City. He proudly owned and operated LaMay's Trucking and Excavating in Clio for 20 plus years, and then Asher’s Auto Salvage in Saginaw for 13 years before retirement. David enjoyed being outdoors gardening, feeding the birds and squirrels, and he especially loved taking his motorcycle for a spin. He was a natural storyteller and often reminisced about his trip to Alaska and childhood memories with his siblings. Dave had a passion for old cars and proudly owned a 1966 Corvette during his younger years. Above all else, David cherished time spent with family and singing and playing his harmonica with his beloved granddaughter, Aliyah. He was an incredible man who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
