WILLIAMS, Charles F. – of Davison, age 94, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at residence, surrounded by his loving family. A Funeral Service will be held 12:30 PM Saturday, August 26, 2023 at East Flint Church of the Nazarene, 3515 N. Belsay Road, Flint, MI 48506; Pastor Michael Graham and Pastor Alan Duce co-officiating. Interment will be in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-7 PM on Friday, August 25, 2023 at East Flint Church of the Nazarene. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Flint Church of the Nazarene, in Charles’ memory.
Charles was born in Flint, MI on July 21, 1929, son of the late Charles F. and Edith (Gardner) Williams, Sr. He married Doris I. Brewer on August 27, 1949 and she preceded him in death on August 29, 2018. Charles retired from General Motors after 43 years of service. Following retirement, he worked for Case Construction for 10 years. Charles was a strong follower of Jesus Christ. He attended East Flint Church of the Nazarene. Charles loved being outdoors, farming and helping others. He greatly loved spending time with his family.
Charles is survived by his children, Katherine (William) Verbias, Charles (Sharon) Williams, Shirley Smith, Kay Williams, Daniel (Rosemary) Williams and Steven (Michelle) Williams; 32 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine Lason; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by sons, Roger Williams and Frederick Smith; four brothers and five sisters.
