Janet Lee Jones, age 82, of Burton, died Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at her residence with her
family by her side.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 4:00pm at Hansen Funeral Home in downtown Davison, with Chaplin Marvin Downs officiating. Cremation will follow after the service. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 pm until time of services Friday. Those desiring to make contributions in Janet’s memory, per her request, may make them to Genesee County Humane Society.
Janet was born in Saginaw, Michigan on September 16, 1942, the daughter of the late Max and Joyce (Burlingame) Bowyer and has lived in the Burton/ Davison area since 2010. She grew up and spent most of her life in the Chesaning area. Janet graduated from Chesaning High School in 1960, where she was involved in the GAA and cheerleading. Janet was employed by Universal
Underwriters Automotive Group and American Hardware before her retirement. She enjoyed going to the Davison Senior Center, and found great joy in creative pursuits in drawing, woodcarving, and especially painting. She also loved taking care of her yard, on her yellow riding lawnmower, and her home was always filled with music, the sounds of her singing, playing cards and the comforting presence of her cats.
She leaves to cherish her memory daughters: Melissa Jones-Morberg, Audra (Don) Eller and
Sarah (David) Jones-Griggs; granddaughters: Samantha, Hannah, and Megan and many grand animals; the father of her daughters: Larry Jones; sister: Bernice Vogelaar, and host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by sisters: Carla Krause, and Jackie Miller; son in law: John Morberg; and many four legged kitty daughters. Special friends Audra Fridline, and
Sherry Oliver.
A special thank you to Residential Hospice for the incredible love and care you provided our mother over the last nine months. Thank you for the many visitors that came to visit her at home bringing her conversation and lots of goodies.
