FOWLER, Erik James – of Davison, MI, age 37, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 North Gale Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Ben Kirkman officiating. The family will receive visitors 12-2 PM Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Davison Missionary Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The River Church, Families Against Narcotics (FAN) of Genesee County or The Salvation Army-Flint, in Erik’s memory. In accordance with State Mandated Guidelines, masks are required and social distancing must be observed.
Erik James Fowler was born in Flint, MI on September 20, 1983, son of Tracy (Parker) and the late James Fowler. He was a gift from God and was blessed with many talents. Erik was smart, funny, artistic and mechanical, always happiest when he had a wrench in his hand. He was a gifted writer, enjoyed playing the guitar and fishing. Erik was a quiet, simple man, usually wearing a Carhart hat, hooded sweatshirt and jeans. While Erik had a happy childhood, he struggled with life as a teenager and beyond. Erik suffered from the disease of addiction and fought it over and over again, yet it did not define him. More than anything, he was deeply loved, and he knew it. Above all, his 15-year-old son, Harley, was his pride and joy.
Erik is survived by his son, Harley; mother and step-dad, Tracy and John Johnston; 4 siblings, Mallory (Brandon) Harrier, Colin Fowler, Geoff Johnston and Sarah Donovan; nieces and nephews, Natalie Harrier, Parker Harrier, Annie Johnston and Meridith Johnston; grandparents, George and Donna Parker; aunts and uncles, Brad (Michelle) Parker, Susan (Jeff) Pilon, Penny (Todd) Hawkins, Laura Duquette, Tonna Poston, Sue (Dennis) Matthews, Vicki Fowler, Dorothy (Walt) Radisovich; many other loving family members and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James M. Fowler; grandmother, Betty Fowler and uncle, Elvin Fowler.
