Candelario (Larry) Cuevas Jr 74 of Flint Michigan Passed away January 6, 2021.
Private service will be held at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Visitation 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the family.
Candelario was born in San Antonio Texas to the late Candelario Cuevas Sr. and Teresa (Perez) Cuevas on April 18, 1946.
He served his country in the US Army from 1969 to 1971.
Larry met and married the love of his life Norma Nelson on October 21, 1963 they lived a long happy life of 58 years of unconditional love. Larry spent 35 years working at General Motors Fabricating to support his family, he was a proud member of the local 659 where he served as a committeeman and trustee, he retired as a die setter from General Motors.
Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, coaching his children's sports teams, being a boxing coach and mentor to children.
Larry leaves to cherish in his memory, wife Norma Cuevas, sons Anthony (Dawn) Cuevas of Flint, Michigan, Vincent (Sandra) Cuevas of Clarksville, Tennessee, daughters Monica (Mark) Wallen of Grand Blanc, Michigan and Melissa Cuevas of Flint, Michigan. Six grandchildren Jeremy Steede of Lebanon, Tennessee, Ashley Cuevas of Bridgeport, Michigan, Vanessa Cuevas of Davison, Michigan, Mark Wallen II of Grand Blanc, Michigan, Briana Wallen of Olympia, Washington and Anastasia Cuevas of Flint, Michigan. Two great-grandchildren Davon Cuevas and Xavier Wallen. Sister Joanne Diaz of Flint, Michigan brother-in-law Joe Roach of Flint, Michigan. sister-in-law Joan Nelson of Vernal, Utah, sister-in-law Marion Steller of Burton, Michigan brother in law Philip Nelson of Flint, Michigan and Special brother Ron Trotter of Cape Coral, Florida. Bonus grandchildren Anthony Beauchamp, Nicole Beauchamp, Jazmine Jackson, Jerrika McDougall and Earicia Gladney. Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Larry was preceded in death by parents Candelario Cuevas Sr, Teresa Cuevas, brothers David Cuevas, Viviano Cuevas Jr, sister Eva Cuevas, granddaughter Jessica Steede, great-grandson Montrice Jackson ( Baby Trice); father-in-law Eddie Lee Nelson, mother-in-law Lola May Nelson, brother-in-law Bobby Nelson, brother-in-law Grady Wayne Nelson, brother-in-law Kenneth Nelson.
