DELONEY, William A. “Bill” - of Montrose, age 67, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021.
Bill was born December 29, 1953 in Flint, Michigan to the late Bernard “Hap” and Geneva (Creager) Deloney. Bill graduated from E. A. Johnson High School in 1971. On December 10, 1982 he married Kay Swart at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Bill retired from General Motors. He enjoyed many fishing, hunting, and camping trips with his family and friends including his best friend, Mike Echlin. Bill was also an avid Montrose Rams Football fan, attending games since the 1990s.
Bill is survived by his wife of 38 years, Kay Deloney, his daughters Krysta (Mark) Flanagin, Rachel (Matt) Marzluft, and Kelley (Ryan) Swanson; 9 grandchildren, Caleb, Clayton, Mia, Jillian, MJ, Kalen, Damien, Rozalynn, and Madison. He is also survived by his siblings Greg (Connie) Deloney, Chris (Kristen) Deloney, Sherry (Paul) Straus, Jerry Deloney, Cathy Deloney, Elsie (Matt) Kelly; sister-in-laws Monica Chapman, Shelly Hampton and Diana Martin. He was also a loving uncle to many nieces and nephews, especially his god-son Garrett Deloney. He was preceded in death by his brother, John Deloney, parents Hap and Geneva Deloney, and his mother-in-law, Maxine Swart.
Family will receive friends on Sunday February 7, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Following Covid – 19 and government regulations, only 25 people are allowed in the chapel at one time and masks are required. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. A private funeral will take place on Monday, February 8 and a burial of cremains will be in the spring when it is warm and safe to gather.
