Judith Gafney was born on November 3, 1942, in Flint, Michigan, the beloved daughter of Dr. Daniel H. and Rita Mary (McGinnis) Sheeran. On October 30, 1965, she married the love of her life, Charles Gafney, also in Flint. Their marriage was a testament to love and partnership until Charles preceded her in death on July 3, 2023. Judith dedicated over 20 years of her professional life as an office manager at Flint OB-GYN, PC, retiring in 1997. Her compassion and efficiency left a lasting impression on colleagues and patients alike. A devout member of St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church, Judith served as an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist, embodying her faith with grace and humility. Above all, Judith cherished her family. She was a devoted mother and a proud, loving grandmother whose warmth and support were constants in their lives. Her love extended beyond family, touching everyone she met. With a vibrant spirit and an open heart, Judith never met a stranger-everywhere she went, she encountered a familiar face or made a new friend.
A passionate sports fan, she especially loved college football-cheering loudly for Notre Dame-and college basketball, where her loyalty lay with Michigan State University. Judith’s legacy is one of love, faith, and deep connection. She will be remembered for her joyful presence, kind heart, and the countless lives she brightened. Surviving are son, Patrick (Diane) Gafney of Plymouth, WI; daughter, Jennifer (Charles) Roy of Flushing; grandchildren, Corby and Keegan Gafney and Isabella and KC Roy; brothers, Nick (Jill) Sheeran of Ft.
