Zovishlack, Dana - of Mt. Morris, age 74, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 1, 2025, at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11AM, Friday, February 7, 2025, at St. Mary's Catholic Church - 11110 Saginaw St. Father Roy Horning to officiate, burial to follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 11AM until 8PM, with a Rosary held at 7PM at O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Prayer Group.
Dana was born April 17, 1950, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Edmund and Earnestine (Galle) Zovishlack. Dana, a proud graduate of St. Mary's Catholic School, class of 1968, found joy in life’s simple pleasures. On June 5, 1971, he married the love of his life, Maryann Simmonds, and together they forged a beautiful partnership that lasted 53 remarkable years. For over 30 years, Dana dedicated his skills as a millwright at Buick. His passion for community shone through in his role as a former Athletic Director for St. Mary School, where he nurtured young athletes and encouraged teamwork. Dana's zest for life was reflected in his many hobbies. He relished moments spent fishing, camping, and enjoying the great outdoors. He had a special talent for photography, capturing memories that will be cherished by his family and friends. Known for his infectious sense of humor, Dana brought joy to those around him, leaving a lasting impression of happiness. Above all, his greatest treasure was his family, he will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: Loving wife, Maryann Zovishlack; Children: Adam (Heather) Zovishlack, Annette (Alan) Thueme, Andrew (Jennifer) Zovishlack, and Amanda (Christopher) Riggie; Grandchildren: Quinton, Christian, Carson, Connor, Corbin, Caden, George, Caroline, Kaitie , Alec, Annie, Al, Grace, Emma, Elly, Lilly, Molly, Kayli, William, Owen, Makayla; Great Grandchildren: Sonny, Benjamin and more on the way; Siblings: Dianne (Richard) Cherry and Edmund (Joy) Zovishlack.
