MISENER, Richard Allen, born July 2, 1937, peacefully entered Paradise on October 25, 2023. He had valiantly fought his illness for several years before passing. Per his wishes, there will not be any service. He will be laid to rest at Church of the Good Shepherd in Punta Gorda, Florida. Richard grew up in Burton, Michigan, just outside of Flint. He graduated from Bendle High School in 1955 and soon began working for Dupont Corporation in Flint. Richard served his country in the Army from 1957 – 1960, during that time he was assigned to an Honor Guard unit. He returned home and resumed his job at Dupont. Years later, Richard was transferred from Flint to Dupont in Troy, Michigan. Richard was an avid golfer and even played hockey on a company-sponsored team. He enjoyed watching all kinds of sports on television and it was well known not to telephone him during a game! He was a member Church of the Good Shepherd in Punta Gorda, Florida and a Freemason. Richard and his wife, Helen, enjoyed traveling around the country and Europe. Richard was known throughout his family and friends as a kind, compassionate gentleman with a smile that would warm hearts. He always had an ear to listen, a shoulder to lean on, and a hand to help lift a troubled spirit. He never met a stranger. Throughout his life Richard has resided in the Michigan cities of Burton, Bloomfield Hills, and Grawn (which is located near Traverse City) and in Florida he lived in North Ft. Myers. Richard leaves his lovely wife, Helen, daughters Nanette (Ken) Yarbrough, Holly, Michigan, Katrina (Ed) Leathers, Grand Blanc, Michigan, and Julia (Mark) Lange, Carlsbad, California, and sons Pastor Paul (Jennifer) Langford, Southgate, Michigan, and Jeff (Kristina) Langford, (California). Richard leaves brothers Don Misener, North Ft. Myers, Florida, and Terry (Martha) Misener, Swartz Creek, Michigan. Richard also leaves ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Laverne and Eveline (Kalbfleisch) Misener, Richard was predeceased by his children Michael, Marc, Karen and Cynthia and his brothers Robert and Ralph Misener and sister Ruth Wolfgang. Richard will forever live on in the hearts of those many, many people that knew and loved him. He may be missed, but he will never be forgotten.
