JOHNSON, Sandra Lee (Grondin) – of Davison, MI, age 76, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 4 PM Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 2-4 PM Thursday, April 14, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org, or the Humane Society of Genesee County, www.geneseehumane.org, in Sandy’s memory.
Sandy was born in Flint, MI on June 18, 1945, daughter of the late Vern and Bernice (Bryant) Grondin. She married Aaron “Ray” Johnson on March 30, 1963 in Flint, MI. Sandy enjoyed traveling, especially to the Upper Peninsula and spending winters in Orange Beach, Alabama. She also loved bowling, playing cards and singing Karaoke. Sandy was very proud of her American Indian heritage and she was an Elder of the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians. She loved all animals, including alligators, dolphins and her dogs. Sandy enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her grandchildren.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Ray Johnson; 2 children, Kim (Sarah) Halson and Karen (Bret) Sauerwein; 3 grandchildren, Tyler (Kelsey) Sauerwein, Brittney Sauerwein and Maia Halson; brother, Paul (Margie) Grondin; nieces and nephews, Julia (Mike) Mize, Shawn (Peggy) Grondin, Aaron (Jana) Grondin; sister-in-law, Hanselle (Chuck) Lane; nieces and nephews, Tim (Betty) Lane, Rob Lane, Jessica Lane, Russ (Wendy) Lane and Patrick (Catherine) Lane; 2 canine companions, Bailey and Bella; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Bernice Grondin and sister, Colleen Ritchie.
