RUST, Janet Lynn peacefully left this world at the age of 74 on October 9th.
Janet was born and raised in the Flint area and graduated from Kearsley in 1967. Janet spent her working years at AC/GM, where she made enduring friendships. She approached her work with dedication until she retired. She is now reunited with her husband Mack, the love of her life, her mom and mother in law who she was especially close, and many of her cherished animals. This reunion brings us
solace in the midst of our grief. Janet loved being a grandmother and both her grandchildren will forever remember the time they had with her. She had a special place in her heart for her grand puppies, who brought her endless joy. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she prioritized her family first. Her generous spirit and kind heart will be dearly missed. Janet will be remembered for the love she gave, the lives she touched, and the memories she created.
May she rest in eternal peace.
She is survived by her dedicated children Scott Hillerman and his wife Tracy, Lynn Wehman and her wife Sarah Habermehl, her two grandchildren Bryce Hillerman and Lance Hillerman. She also leaves her two sisters Pat Hill and Barbara Good and several nieces and nephews.
Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Mack Rust and her mother Norma Seale.
Funeral service will be held 11am Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating. Visitation 2-8pm Monday and 10am Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
