ROBERTS, Florence – of Portage, formerly of Davison, age 87, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at Bickford Assisted Living. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev. Fr. George Puthenpeedika celebrant. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM – 8 PM Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM on Tuesday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Wednesday at church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bickford Assisted Living.
Florence was born in Elba, MI on September 13, 1926, daughter of the late Justin and Rose (Sloan) Subora. She married Richard Roberts on January 25, 1947 and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2002.
Florence is survived by her children, Walter (Sharyn), Richard Jr. (Janice), Annetta Logan; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sister, Nettie McNeil; brothers, Walter and Joseph Subora.
