Dunlap, Thomas Jack of Grand Blanc, age 74, died Thursday, August 20, 2026, at his home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at Caterer Family (formerly Rossell Funeral Home). Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
Thomas was born in Flint, Michigan, on October 23, 1951, the son of Jack and Betty (Schmidt) McKellar. He married Mary Jo Lynch on May 10, 1975, at St. Luke Catholic Church.
Thomas dedicated 35 years to General Motors as a skilled tradesman mold maker before retiring. He was an avid boater and proudly served as a licensed captain, spending countless hours enjoying the waters of the Great Lakes. One of his proudest adventures was a two-week voyage to the North Channel in Canadian waters, where he and his family island-hopped and made lasting memories together.
Thomas loved golfing, and his hole-in-one on October 3, 2015, at Flint Golf Club was one of his fondest golfing memories. He also enjoyed the outdoors, whether hunting or fishing. A devoted hockey fan, Thomas especially enjoyed cheering on his sons, grandsons and nephews.
Thomas was a devoted and loving husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 51 yers, Mary Jo; sons, Thomas (Leah) Dunlap, Robert (Mary) Dunlap; grandchildren, Conor, Adam, Margaret, Dylan; brothers-in-law, Patrick (Lynn) Lynch, Daniel (Barb) Lynch, Thomas (Tammie) Lynch, Bobby (Jill) Lynch, Wayne (Remy) Lynch, Jimmy (Lisa) Lynch, Charlie (Deb) Lynch, Johnny “Yiyo” Lynch, Peter (Jenny) Lynch, Paul (Kathy) Lynch; sisters-in-law, Georgie (Randy) Lynch, Susan Hobrat, Peggy Clarence, Katie (John) Newson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Linda Lynch Burton.
The family would like to extend special thank you to the staff of Residential Hospice and to siblings Peggy Clarence and Johhny Lynch for all of your care and compassion. Tom will be greatly missed by all.
