BURGESS, Marsena L. (Blevins) - Age 87, of Flushing, died Thursday, September 2, 2021. Funeral service will take place 12 PM, Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek. Pastor Aaron Whitman officiating burial to follow in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will take place from 11 AM to 8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek and again from 11 AM to 12 PM at the church Tuesday.

Marsena was born on August 9, 1934 in Dexter, MO the daughter of Silas and Rosa (Gaines) Blevins. She graduated from Swartz Creek High School. Marsena worked for FOH Hospital as a medical assistant for many years and she retired from Dr. Ned Hether's office in Swartz Creek. She and Gordan Burgess were united ion marriage, sadly he preceded her in death in 1979. Marsena was a member of the Corner Stone Baptist Church, Swartz Creek. She enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers, crocheting and music. Marsena was a loving, caring and giving woman to everyone she knew and loved.

She is survived by her brother, Robert Blevins; sister, Shirley (Wayne) Burner; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Marsena was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon; parents, Silas and Rosa Blevins; brothers, Delmar, Renzo, Earl and Bill; and sisters, Edith, Bernice and Helen.
