ANDERSON, John Dennis, Jr. – of Goodrich, MI, age 66, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Deacon Ron Kenney officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Wednesday, March 9, 2022 and 12-1 PM Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics, in John’s memory.
John was born in Flint, MI on January 6, 1956, son of the late John Dennis Anderson and Irene Elizabeth (Kocz) Anderson. He was a graduate of Powers Catholic High School Class of 1974. After graduation, John married Vickie Clay on November 4, 1978 in Flint, MI at Sacred Heart Church. He retired from the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department in 2014 after spending 25 years as a Deputy Sheriff. John spent every waking moment shooting his bow, golfing, hunting and spoiling his 4 grandchildren. He loved getting away almost every weekend “Glamping” with his wife, children and grandbabies.
John is survived by his wife, Vickie Lynn Anderson; two sons, Christopher John (Sarah Stephanie) Anderson and Brian Joseph (Lauren Michelle) Anderson; four incredible grandchildren, Willow Lynn Anderson, Elia Rose Anderson, Wes Clay Anderson and Scarlett Lynn Anderson; sister, MaryJo Anderson; two nieces, Cami Rosine and Tori Rosine; best friend, Scott (Peggy) Feneley. John has left too many friends to name them all. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Dennis Anderson and Irene Elizabeth Anderson.
