Green, Margie Ruth passed away at her residences on January 27, 2022. Funeral service will be held 1pm, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Cornerstone Assembly of God, 305 New St. Clio, MI 48420. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm, Pastor Fred Wilbanks officiating. Internment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio. Margie was born in Birdeye, Arkansas November 1, 1934, the daughter of Walter L. Baker and Daisy D. Gibbs. She went to high school in Cherry Vally, Arkansas where she met and was joined in marriage to William Forrest Green in 1950 and in 2021 they celebrated 71 years together. Margie loved hunting, fishing and playing music and she participated in several live TV and radio shows. She always had a garden and loved canning her own fruits and vegetables; she taught her family how make her recipes and her dumplings will go down in history. Margie proudly sewed items for her family and would crochet, embroider and quilt for herself. Later after her children were grown, she went back to work at VG’S in Clio where she later retired. Margie is survived by her husband William Forrest Green, son Garry (Andis) Green, daughters Barbara (Larry) Allen, Denita (Gary) Hiltz, four grandchildren Darrell (Jeanna) Allen, Andrea (Casey) Murphy, Gary (Olivia) Hiltz and Cheyanne Hiltz (Dylan Caron), six great grandchildren Avery Allen, Will Allen, Drayden Murphy, Kolden Murphy, Jase Hiltz and Cole Hiltz. She came from a large family and has several siblings missing her today, Eunice Stout, Martha Coley, Virgil Baker, brother-in-law Lonzo Green, many nieces, nephews, special nephews Rod Green, Rodney Green, and a special dog named Ginger. Margie is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Daisy Baker, brothers Lonzo Curtis Earl, Richard Baker, sisters Virgilee, Beatrice and Clara. Margie was a “True” Christian first and it was clear within seconds of meeting her that her faith in God was what she cherished most. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Green Family. |
