ROGERS, Joy Marie (Wilson) – of Davison, MI, age 67, passed away Sunday, September 5, 2021. A Funeral Service will be held 2 PM Saturday, September 11, 2021 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Josh Slater is officiating. Interment in Richfield Union Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 12 noon Saturday at Allen Funeral Home until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, in Joy’s memory.
Joy was born in Flint, MI on September 5, 1954, daughter of the late Leroy and Hazel (Davenport) Wilson. She was a graduate of Kearsley High School Class of 1972. On May 31, 1975, Joy married Gary Rogers. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and was employed as a Dietician for over 25 years. Joy was a great cook and wonderful hostess, especially for family events. She enjoyed her grandchildren and taking long convertible rides.
Joy is survived by her husband of 46 years, Gary Rogers; 2 children, Crystal (Josh) Slater and Brett (Ashley) Rogers; 5 grandchildren, Adeline, Emmitt, Ian, Eloise and Zara; sister, Judi Tosto; sisters-in-law, Peggy (Steve) Hughes, Carol (Fred) Stegall and Patty (Dennis) Crawford; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Hazel Wilson and her brother, William Wilson.
