William “Bill” Robert McLaren, age 70, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
Bill was born in Flint on April 28, 1956, to Robert McLaren and Jeanne (Tremblay) McLaren. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1974 and married the love of his life, LouAnn (Adair) McLaren, on May 9, 1981. Together, they raised their family in Grand Blanc. Known to many as Dr. Bill, he practiced dentistry in Genesee County from 1981 to 2012, when he retired.
Bill was an avid fisherman, handyman, cyclist, island-hopper, birder, and expert road-tripper. He loved woodworking, tending his flowers, caring for his wild birds, and playing with his grandchildren.
Bill never threw out a T-shirt, always wore a hat (preferably camouflage), and looked amazing in overalls and/or suspenders. He had the kindest eyes and spirit and could light up a room with his smile. His “dad jokes” were out of this world.
He is remembered for always being there to lend a hand to family, friends, or anyone in need. Those who knew and loved him will never forget his love, compassion, talent, humor, and intelligence.
Surviving are his wife, LouAnn; children, Niki McLaren, David (Jess) McLaren, and Dani (Edgar) Quintanilla; and grandchildren, Parker and Franklin. He is also survived by his mother, Jeanne McLaren, and sister, Cheryl (Rob) McGrail.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm on Monday, August 24, 2026, at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W. Hill Road, Flint. The family will receive visitors on Monday from 4-7pm.
