BENTLEY, Charlene R. - age 98, of Swartz Creek, passed away on March 8, 2021. Private funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 17, 2021 and can be viewed at 11 AM on the obituary page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Public visitation will be from 10 AM to 11 AM Wednesday, March 17 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, MI. Charlene was born on April 21, 1922 in Swartz Creek, MI, the daughter of Ulysses and Clara (Brown) Dieck. She graduated from Flushing High School and Western Michigan University. She married Donald Bentley on June 5, 1944. She taught various times at Swart zCreek Community Schools. Charlene was a member of the former Bethlehem United Methodist Church, serving in several leadership positions and singing in the choir, and later joined Hope United Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, music, and visiting her children, traveling as far as Indonesia. She was a woman of strong faith. Surviving are: children, Sheryl (Al) Powell of Swartz Creek; Duane(Karen) of Cincinnati, OH; Diane (Sanford) Good of Lititz, PA; Phil (Nancy) of Fayetteville, GA; and Janice of Chiang Mai, Thailand; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, her brother, Donald Dieck, and her sister, Marian Dieck.
