Foster, Daryl W. - Of Grand Blanc, formerly of Flint, age 83 passed away on Saturday, September 2nd. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am on Saturday, September 9th, 2023 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton. Father Steve Anderson will be officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation 9 am Saturday at the church until the time of the Mass. Daryl was born in Mahnomen, Minnesota on May 16th, 1940, the son of the late Darrell and Isabelle (Tverberg) Foster. He was raised in Fosston, Minnesota playing football, basketball, baseball and track. He graduated from Bemidji State College and later earned a MS Degree in Education from Eastern Michigan. On June 22nd, 1963 he married Sharon Connors in Hibbing, Minnesota and moved to Flint, Michigan. Daryl was a School Principal for the Flint Community Schools working during his career at Carpenter Road, Scott, Whittier, Washington and
Eisenhower. He loved the outdoors: hunting and fishing, spending time with family, friends and the “Nomads”. He always supported his daughters and grandchildren in their activities. He was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. Surviving are children, Shawn Haff, Leslie (John) Mangapora, and Mickey (Jimmy) Newman, grandchildren, Mitchell, Lauren, Ryan, Alyssa and Katie, Sister-in-law Lucy Radovich, Brother-in-law Patrick (Coetta) Connors.
