BROWN, Kenneth – of Port Austin, formerly of Flint, age 92, passed away on January 8, 2025. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and inurnment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI.
Kenneth was born in Unionville, MI on September 1, 1932, son of Russell and Anna (Zimmer) Brown. He married Beverly McQueen on October 4, 1952 and they celebrated 63 years together before her passing on July 27, 2016. Ken proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War with a rank of Sergent. He was a proud GM employee, retiring at age 58 after many years of dedicated service. Ken loved his siblings and enjoyed many shopping trips to Shipshewana, Indiana. Ken’s motto was “Simple pleasures are the best.” He was naturally friendly, which could result in an acquaintance becoming a friend. He was an optimist and would say in February, “Spring was just around the corner.”
Kenneth is survived by his children, Daneen (Ben) Stuckert and Darwin Brown; grandchildren, Renae Stuckert, Brian Stuckert, Erik (Hannah) Brown, Alex Brown and Troy Brown; great grandchildren: McCoy Brown and Camden Brown; siblings: Bob (the late Rita) Browne, Nancy (the late Ron) Baumgarten, Doug (Gail) Brown, Sue (Nick) Genna, and Beth (Brian) Molloy; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Betty (Art) Engelmann; his lifelong friend, David Abraham.
