HALL, Colette Irene (Sawade) – of Burton, MI, age 88, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Dennis Rouse officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Crestwood Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Thursday, May 22, 2025 from 3 – 7 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Flint First Wesleyan Church.
Colette was born in Flint, MI on August 20, 1936, daughter of the late Orley and Olive (Harmon) Sawade. She grew up in the Flushing area. Colette loved to drive through the town and recount the many memories made there. She often told stories of when she was a roller-skating carhop at Aunt Nina’s in the 1950s. It was there that she would meet the man she would marry, Roy Hall. They were married in Flint on June 9, 1959. They were married almost 65 years before his death on May 1, 2024. In 1971 Colette opened, owned and operated Colette’s Beauty Salon until her retirement in 2023. She was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved to watch television, most recently the news and “Funny You Should Ask”. Colette adored her church family. Her greatest joy was found in spending time with her beloved family.
Colette is survived by her son, Roy (Cindy) Hall; daughter, Cheryl (Cleadous) Lanter; 5 grandchildren, Curtis (Mary), Craig (Jamie) and Corey Lanter, Vincent and Sophia Hall; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; two siblings, Rennie Sawade and Colleen Bard; sister-in-law, Leveda Kauffman; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orley and Olive Sawade; husband, Roy Hall; great-grandson, Dylan Baker; brother, Orley Ervin Sawade, Jr.; sister, Carol Williamson.
