GORTON, Gerald L. Sr. “Jerry” - Of Burton and of Leesburg, FL, age 82, died Thursday, September 24, 2020 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place.
Gerald was born in Flint on June 28, 1938, the son of Spencer and Lucile (Drew) Gorton. On December 31, 1968, he married Mary A. Edwards in Burton. He was the owner/operator of All State Lawn Sprinklers and All State Water Conditioners and Jerry’s Bait Shop. Jerry was a member of 1st Flint 7th Day Adventist Church. He was a big time jokester who knew thousands through his work. Jerry was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Surviving are wife, Mary;
children, Jeff (Jessica Pearson) Humphrey, Bryon (Katrina Betakas) Humphrey, Gerald L. Gorton Jr., Lisa Carwile, Tammy (Monte Lee Babillies) Gorton, Clouse, Paul (Teresa) DeLisle, Kelly (Todd) Gorton-Schwiegart, and Phillip W. Gorton;
12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren;
and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by siblings Beverly and Larry.
