CONNIE, ELAINE I. – Of Burton, age 84, died Sunday, February 2, 2025 at Hurley Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor David Rogers officiating.
Burial in River Rest Cemetery.
Visitation 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Elaine was born in Flint, Michigan on March 11, 1940, the daughter of Linus and Isabel Gross.
On March 18, 1961 she married Thomas L. Connie in Flint, MI.
She is survived by four children, Brian (Gretchen) Connie, Darrin (Mindy) Connie, Gidget (Michael) James and Ressa Connie; sister, Maxine Fitch and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends, including her special friend for over 50 years, Viola Allen.
Elaine was a devoted mother who enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Family gatherings were always full of entertainment, as you could expect her to have plenty of witty remarks.
Elaine began working at St. Joseph Hospital in 1958 before retiring from General Motors in 1996.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas L. Connie; daughter, Tammy K. Connie; parents, Linus and Isabel Gross; sisters, Geraldine Reynolds and Shirley Baker.
A special thanks to Dr. Elmahdi Saeed, Hurley ICU Team and Lily Holbrook (Right At Home Agency) for caring for her in her final days.
