DOWDALL, Susan – of Davison, MI, age 72, passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 Noon Friday, March 11, 2022, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423: Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski, celebrant. Cremation will take place following the Mass. The family will receive visitors 3-7 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423, and the hour prior to the Mass at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Catholic Church.
Sue was born in Flint, Michigan on March 9, 1949, daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Burleson) Brookey. She married Patrick Dowdall on May 6, 1977, in Davison, MI. Susan graduated from Flint Northern High School and Central Michigan University. She was a committed teacher and loved all her students. She retired from Flint Public Schools after 38.5 years of service. Susan enjoyed all the arts, especially painting. Sue also liked gardening, and feeding the birds, squirrels, deer and all the other critters. She had a love for all animals, especially her fur babies Sadie and Lexie. Sue was an avid Detroit Tigers fan. She was a dedicated member of St. John Catholic Church and served as a Eucharistic Minister, Greeter and Usher.
Sue is survived by her husband, Patrick; children, Jeff (Terry) Dowdall, Brenda Dowdall, Phillip (Kris) Dowdall, Kelly (Gavin Roe) Egan, Chad (Anh-Minh) Durnan, PJ (Amanda) Dowdall; daughter-in-law, Jenny Dowdall; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Kurstin, Jason, Matthew, Ally, Josh, Mackenzie, Connor, Liam, Avery, Logan, and Rowan; great-grandchildren, Jace, Jackson, Marlow, Lilly, and Calvin; sister, Marilyn (Ronald) Graham, many nieces, nephews, countless teaching colleagues and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, William “Bill” Dowdall; sister, Gail (Evart) Stevens.
