AMEY, Darren – of Otisville, age 59, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023 at McLaren Flint Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 PM, Friday, November 10, 2023 at the Forest Township Hall, 130 E Main St, Otisville, MI 48463; Pastor Cody Haggadone officiating. The inurnment will take place at a later date at Smith Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to the family.
Darren was born in Flint on February 12, 1964, son of the late Arnold and Catherine “Jeanne” (Leis) Amey. In his younger years, Darren enjoyed spending time outdoors, hunting and fishing. As time went on, his interest changed, and he enjoyed baking cakes. For many years Darren worked at Daze-Panic Press where his creativity flowed. He was known for spending countless manhours on projects just to save a dime. Darren was adored by his family, who will miss him greatly.
Darren is survived by his son, Michael Piet; siblings, Jeffery (Sandy) Amey, Timothy (Stacy) Amey, Diane (Mark) Lambert and Keith Amey; several nieces and nephews; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
