Ida was born on November 10, 1933, in Dalghren, IL to the late William & Gladys Underwood. She graduated from Flint Tech High School. Ida had a long and successful career spanning 34 years with General Motors. After retirement she spent most of her years focused on her favorite things: family, faith, travel and golf. She traveled across the globe, from Europe to Hawaii and all points in between. Her two favorite places were Australia and New Zealand. She spent many years wintering at Polo Park in Orlando, Florida where she golfed and formed lifelong relationships and memories. One of her favorite memories was landing her first hole-in-one at age 74! Erich and his family are founding members of the Elms Road Church of God in Swartz Creek where Ida and Erich attended. Ida was a Red Hat Lady and was a member to the American Business Association for Women (ABWA) for over ten years. She was a talented cook and baker her pastries where her most requested item. Above all she cherished time spent with her family and her fondest memories where those spent with the grandchildren.
Ida Is survived by her loving husband, Erich whom she married on October 1, 1988; her three daughters, Pamela (Lance) Wickham, Darcy (Billy Manning) Ojeda and Cheryl (Larry) Lewis; four grandchildren, Andrea (Mark) Domres, Trevor (Stephanie) Monroe, Brian (Evelyn) Harig and Ashlee (Jordan) Haynes; seven great-grandchildren, Corbin, Campbell, Cutler, Jamison, Bhodi, Axel and Jordan; her sister-in-law, Marilyn Underwood. She is further survived by many other dear family members and friends too numerous to list.
In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded in death by her son, Paul Kronberg; her four sisters, Helen (Ken) Beede, Connie (Vern) Reider, Collette Lurvey and Maryjo (Dick) Ballard and her two brothers, William Clyde Underwood and Jack Underwood.
Ida's family would like to express acknowledge and thank Dr. Katnei for a lifelong compassionate care given to Ida and her family.
While we will miss her here with us, we are comforted to know she is with her Father and Savior in heaven. We are encouraged by the promise of God’s words and believe in her peaceful rest. “I assure you that whoever hears my word and believes in the one who sent me has eternal life and won’t come under judgment but has passed from death into life.” (John 5:24)
