Shannon Nicole Smith, age 54 passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Shannon was born on April 25, 1969 in Flint, Michigan to Billie Payton and Judy Brock. Shannon is survived by her husband, Michael; sons: Hunter Smith and Randy (Christina) Miller; grandchildren: Landon, Jocelyn, Carter, Kennedy, Reagen; father, Billie (Brenda) Payton; mother and father-in-laws: Nancy and John Mullaly, Robert and Mary Smith; siblings: Lisa (Luke) Brock, Corey (Sue) Wilson, Sean Buzzy (Kimberly Wheaton) Payton, Cheri Payton; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Jeff) Cheek; nieces and nephews: Olivia, Logan, Gracelyn, Gannon, Kayla, Nick, Selena, Jake; aunts and uncles: Barb and Harold MacAlpine, Mike and Lisa Brown, Randa and Danny Lee, Becky and Jim Pauley, Kathy and Mike Hazlewood, Yvonne and Bill Harris and Connie Smith. Shannon was preceded in death by her mother, Judy Brock; grandmother, Grace Hyatt; uncle, Larry Hyatt; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Osborn (Smith); aunt, Sharon Stevens.
Shannon had such a loving heart, she loved her flower garden, house plants and sunflowers. She loved spending time with her family exploring Lake Michigan in the boat and at the beach. Shannon loved watching Hunter at his motocross races every weekend during the summer and fall as a family (even though he quite often made her anxious); they had tremendous fun. She loved her grandchildren they were the light of her life. Throughout Shannon's illness, she never complained of her struggles and pain; she kept her beautiful smile for all of us to remember her by. More than anything, Shannon loved her family.
Shannon we are all so proud of you, for the battle you fought with dignity and grace. We all love you so very much.
Funeral service will be held on November 4, 2023 at 3:00pm with one hour of visitation prior to the service at St. Andrews Episcopal Church - 1922 Iowa, Flint, Michigan with The Very Rev. Dr. Father Jay Gantz officiating.
