TANNER, Ilene Mae. – of Birch Run, passed away peacefully Monday, June 1, 2015 at St. Mary's of Saginaw. She was 87 years of age.
Ilene was born December 13, 1927 in Vassar, Michigan to the late George and Helen (Bruisee) Bader. She was a 1946 graduate of Birch Run High School. Ilene married Glenn Gray Tanner on June 28, 1947 in Birch Run, Michigan. They enjoyed 57 years together. He preceded her in death January 25, 2004. Ilene was a proud bus driver for Birch Run Area Schools for 15 years. She was a member of the Birch Run Moose Lodge #2426 - WOTM Chapter 2124 and a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed playing cards, bowling, BINGO and was always very lucky when going to the casino. She was a wonderful mother. Above all, Ilene loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are: Children: Thomas (Cheryl) Tanner of St. Charles, Gregory (Gail) Tanner of Howell, Randall (Brenda L.) Tanner of Birch Run, Glennda (James) Dalman of Grand Ledge, Brian "Todd" (Brenda K.) Tanner of Millington, Melissa (Dennis) Fent of Burt. 11 grandchildren: Tracy (Matthew) Craig, Christy (Scott) Hebner, Lorie Beth (Bob) Ransijn, Kerri Lynn (Bob) Yurk, Stephanie (Seth) Bieneman, Matthew (Amanda) Tanner, Nathan Tanner, Jessica (Josh) Morlock, Samantha Dalman, Megan Fent (Emily Albring) and Lindsay Fent; 8 great- grandchildren; Brother, Larry Bader of Vassar; Many other loving family members and friends. Ilene was preceded in death by her grandson, Michael Fent; Brothers: Kenneth, Richard and Robert Bader; Sisters: Bernice Schoen, Marion Miller and Clarissa Bailer; The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Nurses at St. Mary's – 5 South and Dr. Hashmi for all their love and care.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, June 5, 2015 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Rev. Dr. Sang "Abraham" Chun officiating. Burial in Birch Run Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 1-8PM and on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association or St. Mary's Foundation of Saginaw, Michigan.
