REED, Barbara G. (Bell) – Of Burton, age 81, died Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Abbey Park.
Visitation 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the funeral home, Chaplain Goodman L. Cox officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Barbara was born in Flint, MI on July 7, 1933, the daughter of the late Thomas and Marian Bell.
Barbara graduated from Beecher High School class of 1950 and received her LPN Degree from McLaren Nursing School.
Barbara married Otis L. Reed on August 30, 1952 in Flint.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband, working in her yard, going to the casino and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara was a private duty nurse for 30 years in the Flint area.
Surviving are husband, Otis;
three children, Jeff and wife Marsha of Byron,
MaLeia and husband Eldred Sadler of Schoolcraft,
Greg and wife Cheryl of Byron;
five grandchildren, Ryan and wife Renee Sadler of Holt,
Lynsey and husband John Epple of Schoolcraft,
Jamie and husband Keith Johnson of Montrose,
Justin and wife Amanda Reed of Durand and
Chad Reed of Byron;
six great-grandchildren, Kayla and Sam Sadler, Brody Epple, Dylan, Aiden and Ashlyn Johnson;
sister-in-law, Dorothy Bell of Linden;
aunt, Marie Mills of Holly;
several cousins, nieces, nephews and special and dear friends from her card club aka "The Dirty Dozen".
She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas E. Bell Jr.
