SPINK, Gordon Alfred -- Age 81 of Flint, died August 20, 2020. Private family services will be held with burial at Flint Memorial Park. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Rd., Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Gordon was born August 14, 1939 in Flint, the son of Floyd and Vera (Hanel) Spink. He married Sandra Bachelor on December 6, 1958 in Flint. After graduating from Flint Central High School in 1957, he worked at Schultz Auto Upholstery for 25 years. After that he was employed at GM as a Technical Engineer and was a member of the local UAW 599, retiring in 2004. He enjoyed Woodworking, Classic Cars, and liked to go on cruises.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Sandra Spink; children, Deborah Spink of Lewisville, Texas and Scott (Kathryn) Spink of Aurora, IL; grandchildren, Kimberley Spink and Thomas (Melissa) Spink; great-grandchildren, Ashley Burtch, Claire Burtch, Connor Spink, and Parker Spink; sister, Beverly Hager; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey Spink in 1989; and sisters, Gaynell Holmes and Barbara Jackson.
