GILL, James - Of Flint, age 74, went home to be with Lord Tuesday, July 19, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor David L. Mulherin officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Visitation 10am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Jim retired from Chevrolet Manufacturing after 35 years of being a pipefitter as well as a Master Plumber. Jim married the love of his life Jean, June 24, 1967 and together they raised three children, Renee, Jim, and Christopher (Chip).
Jim truly loved life and lived it to the fullest. He shot pool on several different leagues, played softball on a work team in his younger days, he shot archery, belonged to the Lions Club, was active in church, he enjoyed tinkering in his garage, was an excellent wood carver/artist, enjoyed helping his neighbors/friends, and of course spending time with his family.
Jim and Jean have four grandchildren, Alex Hernandez (Crystal Gonzalez), Mariesa Alexander (Frank Alexander), Brianna, and Crystal.
Also surviving are brothers, Roger (Helen) Gill, Bruce Gill, Marshall (Marianne) Gill, Don (Arla) Gill, and many nieces and nephews that he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his father, Rufus and his mother, Ruth Gill, as well as his sister, Ruth Stearns and his brother. Melvin Gill.
