Andrew Trotogot
Flushing, Michigan
A great friend to the Flushing Community, Andrew Trotogot, passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Friday, July 24, 2026 at the Medilodge of Montrose. Age 90 years. Andrew was born on January 14, 1936 in Warren, Ohio to the late Nick and Rebecca (Nafe) Trotogot. He was raised and graduated from High School in Ohio, and went on to further his education at Taylor University in Indiana. Not only did Andrew receive his bachelor’s degree in education, but he also met his college sweetheart. On June 14, 1958 in Wheaton, Illinois Andrew married the love of his life, Nancy S. Cimbalo, and she preceded him in death on July 1, 2017. In the late 1960’s Andrew moved his family to Flushing, Michigan and accepted a job with the New Lothrop School District. Years later, Andrew would transfer to Hamady High School; and retired after over 30 years of teaching and coaching. Andrew had many joys in life, but nothing brought him more happiness than watching sports and fishing with his friends. Andrew loved all sports. Over the years Andrew built a network with numerous friends and students; he stayed in contact with many of them over the years. Andrew will be missed dearly by all, and his memories will be cherished forever.
“Andy was his own man and one of a kind. He was resolute, unashamed, unwavering and outspoken about His faith in Jesus Christ. He knew how things ought to be and was a champion of conservative and Bible-based values. As a career teacher and football/wrestling coach at Hamady High School, Andy's life and the personal interest he invested in his students impacted many young people for the good. Having graduated from Taylor University, Andy pointed several student/athletes in the direction of his alma mater and personally funded scholarships to help them get there. Although Andy and Nancy never had children of their own, as teachers, the Lord blessed them to instruct and nurture hundreds of kids they loved as their own. They were extremely generous and supportive of the pastoral staff at Mayfair Bible Church. Each Christmas they would deliver an armload of hand-picked gifts to each of the staff families. They were well loved. Over the years, their dedication, leadership and service at Mayfair was valued and greatly appreciated. Andy will be missed by many, but especially by his loyal friend of many years, Carl Liepmann. In our hearts and by the rock solid promises of God, we are certain Andy Trotogot is safe in the presence of the Savior he knew and loved. His steadfast desire was for each of his friends to find forgiveness and rest in the Savior who died for us all” – Pastor Dean Stewart
Left to cherish his memories are his brother-in-law, Wally Gardziella; a niece; nephew; and many close friends. Andrew is happily reunited with his parents, Nick and Rebecca Trotogot; his brother; and sister-in-law.
