CALLAHAN, Frances Darlene (Collier) – of Flint, MI, age 80, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Pete Scribner officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Tuesday, December 19, 2023 and 12-1 PM Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Presbyterian Church, in Frances’s memory.
Frances was born in Flint, MI on June 4, 1943, daughter of the late T.E. and Lenora Belle (Lewis) Collier. She was a graduate of Kearsley High School Class of 1961. Frances devoted 35 years of her life to Buick Engineering, where her work ethic, expertise, and unwavering commitment to excellence set her apart as a valuable member of the Buick Engineering family. Outside of her professional life, Frances was a cherished member of Calvary Presbyterian Church, where her faith played a central role in her life. She found solace, community, and purpose in her religious beliefs, and her spiritual journey was an inspiration to those around her. Frances was also an avid member of Family Campers and RV’ers (F.C.R.V.), where she shared her love for the great outdoors and formed lasting connections with fellow enthusiasts. Her adventurous spirit and camaraderie enriched the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing her within this community. Among her many passions, Frances had a particular fondness for cruises, finding joy in exploring new places and creating cherished memories. She also had a daring side, evident in her love for driving race cars and her enthusiasm for auto racing. A true sports enthusiast, Frances was an avid football fan, and her spirited support for her favorite teams added an extra layer of excitement to the games. Frances's legacy is one of resilience, faith, and an unyielding zest for life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her, and her impact will continue to be felt in the communities she was a part of.
Frances is survived by 2 children, David (Dianne) Callahan and Timothy (Rachel) Callahan; 10 grandchildren, David (Eddie) Matthews, Kyle Callahan, Sara (Jason) Mangett, Jasmine Callahan, Patrick Callahan, Samantha (Joel) Figueroa, Chelsea (Robert) Bryant, Megan (Aaron) Shoumate, Gavin Callahan and Felicia Callahan; 20 great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, T.E. and Lenora Belle Collier; 2 husbands, Raymond Callahan and William Link and son, Tony Ray Callahan.
