Lahar, Dorothy – of Clio, age 77, died Sunday, November 13, 2022, at Hurley Medical Center after a strong battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Thursday, November 17, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home. Burial to follow at Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family for future designation.
Dorothy was born January 17, 1945, in The Bronx, New York, to the late George and Irene (Skowronski) Lahar Jr. She attended and graduated from Clio High School. Dorothy was a child provider from Time for Tots for 20 plus years. She loved her extended day care kids. Dorothy loved flowers and gardening; she was always playing in the dirt. She enjoyed racing and supporting her family. Grandparents’ day was her favorite school activity to attended with her grandchildren. Those who knew Dorothy knew she was a fighter and a warrior. She was an amazing mother, grandma and sister who will be missed by many.
Surviving are: Children: Mary (Robert) Johnston, Tim Lahar, and Heather (Greg) Cuthbertson; Grandchildren: Jessika Church, Paul (Catherine) Lahar, Michelle (Ryan) Shoemaker, John Cuthbertson, Mandi Lahar, Deontay Cuthbertson, Jacquelyn Cuthbertson, and Jadyn Cuthbertson; 6 Great grandchildren; Sisters: Patricia Hamacher, Diane (Terry) Ball, Mary (Pat) Dolan, Ruth Lahar, Veronica (Marcus) Mann, Loretta (Ron) Waugh, Lillian (Chris) Williams; Brothers: Greg (Diane) Lahar and Chris (Tammy) Lahar; Best friends, Loretta and Gary Stanke. She is preceded in death by her son, Paul Lahar; Brothers: George Lahar III, Robert Lahar, Brother- In-Law, Tom Hamacher.
