CUMMINGS, Dixie L. (Thierbach) – Of Flushing, age 73, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 24, 2014.
Funeral service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Don R. Dennis officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to Family Life Radio or Higher Praise Church Building Fund.
Visitation 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, 11a.m.-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Dixie was born in Southgate, CA on September 23, 1940 and was a resident of the Mt. Morris and Flushing areas most of her life.
She married Roy Cummings on March 7, 1985.
Dixie was employed as a fine dining waitress for the Sheraton Hotel, Bosley's and Cafe Panache for many years. She retired early to care for her husband and mother.
Surviving are three children, Ron and wife Beth Thierbach,
Tammy and husband Phil McCrandall,
Traci and husband Mike Starr;
five grandchildren, Dalton (Karen), Travis and Taylor Thierbach, Emerson and Everett Starr;
two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Hayden Thierbach;
brother, Michael J. Mixon;
nephew, Michael T. Mixon; nieces, Dana Mixon-Witkin and Bridget R. Foster;
two step-sons, Roy Cummings Jr. and family, and Scott Cummings.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Cummings; mother, Willa Dean Mixon and father, S.T. Mixon.
