FLETCHER, JACK P.- Of Burton, age 88, died Sunday, August 15, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Visitation 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jack was born in Flint, Michigan on November 11, 1932, the son of the late Philip and Dolores (Fink) Fletcher.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War as a Sergeant Tank Commander. He enjoyed flying his airplane.
Jack enjoyed golfing, running with the Riverbend Striders and he also ran the Crim.
He loved antique cars, photography and helped anyone in need.
He was known to many as Uncle Jack.
Mr. Fletcher was employed by IBM for 12 years. He taught at Mott Community College and Bendle High School; and also worked at Henderson Bates Elrich Land Surveying and Engineering.
Surviving are wife, Kathleen;
2 step-children, Wayne McKenzie and Wendy McKenzie;
2 sisters, Shirley and husband Bernard Henderson of Flint and Terry Hills of West Branch, MI;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip and Dolores Fletcher.
