MOLLOY, MARIE R. - Of Grand Blanc died Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Brookdale Memory Care.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am Monday, December 4, 2023 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation will be held 5pm to 8pm Sunday December 3, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, with a Scripture Service at 7pm.
Marie was born in Detroit, Michigan on May 27, 1936. She lived in Detroit until moving to Flint in the 1960’s.
She married John (Jack) Molloy on November 7, 1959 and he preceded her in death on January 29, 2009.
Marie worked as an accountant in commercial construction.
Marie was a former member of St. Luke’s Catholic Church and member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, involved in the CCW, former chair of the Finance Council and member of the Education Trust Commission.
Marie enjoyed hiking, skiing, reading, and dancing.
She leaves behind her children, daughter, Kathy Gray;
sons, Dan and wife Jennifer, Dave and wife Kathy, Jeff and wife Angela;
8 grandchildren, Allan (Ali), Megan, Andrew, John, Adam, Rachel, Drew and Cole;
brothers, Michael (Eileen) Chmielewski and Ernie Chmielewski;
sister-in-law, Patricia (Tom) Lynch;
many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jack; daughter, Linda; brother, Ted; sister, Christine (Greg) Helmus; parents and sisters-in-law, Eva and Marie.
