Born on March 6, 1947, to the late Kenneth Leroy and Donna Lucielle (Hathaway) Morse of Byron, Michigan. Cheryl and her siblings Allen, Ruth Ann, and Rosanna (Kay) spent a lot of time in the woods and on the river behind their family home fishing or just paddling around in the rowboat. She graduated from Byron High School in 1965 and earned an associate’s degree, in business, from Baker College. Cheryl married Chester James O’Brien on September 3, 1966, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand.

Cheryl is survived by her husband Chester, her daughters Sheila (Steven) Darling, and Karen (Dana) Morrison, grandchildren, Daniel (Cierra Lowery) Morrison, Vince (Grace Antolos) Morrison, Christopher Darling, and Matthew Darling, great grandchildren Xavier S. Peterson and Remmington Rose Morrison, and her sister Rosanna Kay Crane. She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Donna Morse, and siblings Allen Niles, and Ruth Ann Honke.

Cheryl loved the outdoors. She enjoyed tending her flower and vegetable gardens, had incredible plant identification knowledge and was a member of the local herb club in Bancroft. She entered blue ribbon winning, raspberry jelly at the Shiawassee Conty fair quite often. Cheryl shared her knowledge of quilting and sewing with the neighborhood girls as a 4-H leader. You always learned something new when you spent time with Cheryl. The family loved to play cards with friends and neighbors and get together for Christmas Caroling parties. Jim and Cheryl danced with the Locomotion’s Square Dance Club for many years and went on several camping trips with the club.

The family wants to thank Memorial Hospice for the compassionate care and support they received.
