LIGHT, Mariann – of Davison, age 75, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Regency at Grand Blanc. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National MS Society, in Mariann’s memory.
Mariann was born in Flint, MI on February 16, 1947, daughter of the late John and Cecelia (LaPointe) Slupka. She married Kenneth Light on July 23, 1966. Mariann graduated in 1965 from Sacred Heart in Flint. Mariann was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Davison. She worked for several years at Citizens Bank, retiring in 1991. Mariann was a very talented oil painter. She was dedicated to her family and cherished her children and grandchildren.
Mariann is survived by her loving husband, Kenneth; 2 sons, Timothy (Wendi) and Richard (Lisa); 8 grandchildren, Sami (Harley), Rebecca, Jon, Jenna, Kira, Colton, Jack and Andrew; great grandchild, Charlotte; brother, John (June) Slupka; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Cecelia Slupka.
A special thank you to the staff of Regency at Grand Blanc for the exceptional care and compassion that was given, as well as to friend and Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski for the ongoing care and support that was given to Mariann and her family.
