RIFE, Arlen - Of Flint, age 80, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at McLaren-Flint.
Cremation has taken place.
A Private memorial service will take place at a later time in his home town of Virginia.
Arlen was born in Jewell Ridge, Virginia on July 17, 1940, the son of Leck and Linnie (Keene) Rife.
He was married for 59 years to Fannie Louise (Collins) in Clintwood, Virginia.
Before moving to Flint, he drove a coal truck in Virginia.
He moved to Flint to work at Chevy V-8 in the Cranks, retiring after 40 plus years.
Not ready to retire yet, he then worked at Car Quest as a parts delivery person for 12 years.
Arlen enjoyed going to the casino, going out to dinner, NASCAR races and having coffee and fun conversations with his McDonald’s “Gang”, Hockey, Flint Generals and Red Wings.
Surviving are wife, Louise;
daughter, Patti Green of Flint;
brothers, James (Jean) Rife of Martinsburg, Virginia,
Eugene (Debbie) Rife of Johnson City, Tennessee;
special mention, cousin, Henry (Peggy) Rife and “adopted” daughter, Cathy Carr;
many dear friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Terry Arlen Rife; brothers, Lawrence and Arvil Rife; sisters, Elizabeth Cline, Hazel Smith and Margie Rife.
